As with any art form music composition is a combination of both creative imagination
and technical skill. There are basic principals underlying all styles or idioms of music.
I work with each student to put together a program of study that meets their needs and goals.

Instruction can include study in any or all of the following areas:

Sight Singing                                                               Ear Training

Counterpoint                                                                Music Theory

Keyboard Familiarization                                            Music Notation Software

Music Analysis                                                            Musical Form

Music History

Composition with various instruments and styles, from solo to large ensemble.

I have composed for solo instrument, voice and piano, chamber ensemble and large
wind ensemble.

I received my Masters of Arts in Music Composition from CSU - East Bay, where I
served as the Music Department's theory tutor.
